(Self-testing is not a substitute for a manual push test of the alarm. Perform a button test once per week to verify proper alarm operation.) The Kidde Smoke Detectors’ compact, 4-inch design, which is smaller than the average 5-inch smoke detector, provides smoke detection in small spaces, such as a mobile home, RV, or crawlspace. When smoke or fire is detected, an 85-decibel alarm will sound and a red LED light will illuminate. The Kidde Photoelectric Smoke Detector is powered by 2-AA alkaline batteries (included), providing peace-of-mind smoke detection coverage during a power failure. Installation is easy & requires no wiring – simply mount the bracket onto the ceiling & twist and click the smoke alarm into the bracket. The Kidde Smoke Detector will chirp when the alkaline batteries need replacing or as a reminder when its time to replace the alarm, at the end of its 10-year life span. A test-hush button allows you to test the battery operations as well as silence nuisance alarms, should they occur.
